Any ideas for a coffee themed college girls dorm hallway? I am an RA and I have to decorate my hall for next semester. I have decided to do a coffee theme. I need ideas as far as what to do! Thanks! | You could buy burlap sacks (like the coffee beans come in when shipped) and decorate them with fake coffee company names that incorporate the names of the girls in that dorm and hang one on each door of the dorms in your hall.

You could also make (draw) a huge coffee mug and have each girl's name in a bubble like the coffee is boiling.
I don't know, I'm not very creative. Hope this gets your ideas going! | Boys spending the night at girls dorm in college? Are boys allowed to spend the night in the girls dorm for one two or three nights at San Francisco State or any college for that matter. | NO. The school policy is that the opposite sex cannot stay overnight in the dorms. The rules can be somewhat bent, depending on which residential adviser (RA) is assigned to that dorm.
That is why most people prefer move out of the dorms and into the apartments / condos in their second year. | What do college girls talk to each other about in their dorm rooms? My room mate and I have been arguing about this. I know everyone is different, but I was hoping a few people could say what they talk / talked about most. We're trying to figure out the nature of woman-kind (an impossible task, I know), but our college doesn't let guys into the girls dorm, so the conversations that go on in a girl's dorm are somewhat of a mystery to us. | | they talk about boys, sex, and girls they dont like | What is a good theme to decorate a college-dorm-floor for girls? So I'm an RA (Resident Assistant) for my college dorm floor this year and I have to decorate our floor and lounge. Last year I helped create a disney princess theme (corny but awesome at the same time because we all grew up with disney) which worked out pretty well but I'm trying to think of other ideas. Any takers with unique ideas and how to go about decorating? | I'm working on my door decs for my hall now... I am doing butterflys, with two layers of wings, and on the inside layer of wings, I wrote: Favorite music, favorite activities, major, hometown. Seperatly, and left room for residents to fill in the blanks. Basically, there is then a flap (wings) over this information so it just looks like a butterfly. If you want a pic, send me a message, and I will send you some. For my theme I am thinking about a jungle theme, putting monkeys, trees, and such on the walls. Last semester, I did an under the sea theme, with the rainbow fish as my front door (remember the book? most of my residents did) It was really easy even for me, and I'm a terrible artist! Other themes in my building for the girls halls were greese, the beetles, shoes, and a brother/sister hall one, "boys are from mars" (with the hall across the way saying "girls are from Venus"). My building last fall did 90s theme... esepecially focusing on TV shows (fresh prince...). Another idea I have heard some people wanting to use this year is somethign relating to the olympics/ china, or you could even just do a global theme, relating it to the olympics (so have something from a ton of different countries).
Well, I hope that some of these ideas may help you out, if even just give you some where to start...
As far as decorating, are you still at home, and do you have little siblings? I had my little sister help me cut out butterflys since I had to cut 50!
Good luck!
Actually, another idea I saw online. You could do a superhero theme, and then for your first bulliten board, do "a superhero's guide to college" and give tips for survival.

You will find tons of more ideas | Would three girls in a college dorm room be a bad idea? It is just a small double sized room. One bunk bed and one twin bed and three closets and a community bathroom for the dorm. Would it be hard to get along? | | I've never lived on-campus, but in my experience throughout the years, when there are a group of three girls, the two girls may team up on the third one. | Are girls allowed in a boys dorm room at college? if they're going out with them? And are guys allowed in a girls dorm room? | | Yes. Let the seed of love gush forth. | Do you think it is acceptable for a gay guy to use the girls' bathroom in a college dorm? Some of the girls, including myself, are somewhere in between not sure how we feel about it and we disagree with it, while other girls are fine with it. | | Who knows...maybe they should have a gay bathroom, or a gay college. Or a little gay town where they all live then we don't have to have issues like this. | What college's can boys and girls sleep in the same dorm room together? my best friend told me about college's that do this and i want to sleep in the same dorm as my boyfriend, but i want like a list of all the college's that let boys and girls dorm in the same room together, so i can get an idea of where we can go. thank you :D | | U chicago | To college girls in the dorm, would you be all right if a transgender person used your bathroom ever? I am in college and I am a Male-to-Female transgender, not out yet. I am registered as a male and have to live in the male dorms. My therapist is working on a diagnosis for me so I can move to the girls floor. (I am also struggling with my sexual orientation.) I have been crossdressing whenever I get a chance. I feel more comfortable as a woman. Last night during the middle of the night when basically everyone was asleep, I dressed up as my true self and took the elevator to the girls floor of the dorm and used the bathroom without incident. I took the elevator back up went to my room. no problems. I put some makeup on, a wig, and I have breast form and other shape-wear. I just don't speak as i have a rather deep male voice.
So girls, what would you do, your reaction to seeing a male-to-female transgender person in the dorm? Would you react different if I were to use the shower? | i'm trans-something (on female hormones, but thinking about quitting) and my husband is FTM, so don't think i'm being transphobic here, but...
dressing up in the middle of the night just so you can go use the women's restroom just seems weird! | To college girls in the dorm, would you be all right if a crossdresser used your bathroom ever? I am in college and I am a crossdresser, and am attracted to men. My gender identity is not relevant here. Last night during the middle of the night when basically everyone was asleep, I dressed up in drag and took the elevator to the girls floor of the dorm and used the bathroom without incident. I took the elevator back up went to my room. no problems. I put some makeup on, a wig, and I have breast form and other shape-wear. I just don't speak as i have a rather deep male voice.
Would you have any problems with this, a man whose gender expression is different?
So girls, what would you do, your reaction to seeing a crossdresser/transvestite in the dorm? Would you react different if I were to use the shower? | I personally don't have a problem with transvestites, and if it were up to me I'd allow you to use whichever bathroom you felt more comfortable using. If you were using the shower...well, as long as you covered yourself up and didn't just walk around letting it all hang out, I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with it, but that has nothing to do with your transvestism, just common decency. Of course, I don't go to your school. If you're concerned, talk to your RA and the girl's floor RA about it and see what penalties there may be for doing this, etc.
If you identify as female, then you should be allowed to use the women's bathroom. If you identify as male, just happen to enjoy dressing like a woman and are attracted to men, the school is likely to say you must use the men's restroom, because you're not female, biologically or psychologically. Women who identify as female, are attracted to women and prefer to wear men's clothing don't generally use the men's restroom, after all.
Unless you truly are uncomfortable using the men's room, you probably can't make much of a case in your favor, and will likely be made to deal with whatever consequences your school has for transgressing that particular boundary. If you are uncomfortable using the restroom designated for you and your school will not allow you to continue using the ladies' room, you might be able to wrangle your way into a single with your own bathroom. |
